Mr. Viorel Vasiu is a well-rounded technical top manager having over 30 years career in the area of national electrical companies and telecommunications. He was involved in complex projects both on the local market, as well as abroad. He started his engineering career in the major electricity distribution company (RENEL/CONEL) and as of 2004, he has held management roles in critical network companies (SMART, TRANSELECTRICA). Also, he was the Production Director in Electrica Serv and served as a non-executive member on the Administrative Council of Teletrans. Since July 2018 he is member of Directorate Board of TRANSELECTRICA.

During this time, he also worked for 3 years in Bulgaria and Germany on a complex project in Bulgaria, for a Romanian – German consortium to implement project demands of American Energy System. His areas of professional expertise cover Operations, Maintenance, International Tendering, Occupational Health and Safety, Excellence Centers, IT.

As a leader, Mr. Vasiu distinguishes himself through his strong people skills, building high performing technical teams, alongside his strong analytical and strategic abilities which lead to results in challenging market and technical situations. Viorel easily adapts to new market and organizational situations, combining both his technical and managerial experience to capture best-suited opportunities for the organization. His organizational transformation experience started early in his career, being involved in one of the most complex reorganization projects in the national electricity field (Conel) which took 4 years.

Mr. Viorel Vasiu was born on September 9^th, 1969 in Bucharest, Romania. In 1999 he graduated from the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, receiving other certifications such as management and public tenders throughout his career. He speaks English and French.
