Prof. Eng. Anton Anton, PhD, is the Minister of Energy of Romania, representing and initiating relations with other ministries and specialized bodies of the central public administration, with other authorities, public institutions and central and local organizations, with the institutions of the European Union (EU) and with other international organizations, related to the Romanian energy sector.
He is deputy in the Parliament of Romania.
He is member of the Academy of Technical Sciences and of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts.
He was member of CCCDI (Consultative College for Research, Development and Innovation), Chairman of the Committee for the Promotion of Technical and Scientific Literature. He was also Chairman of CNSPIS (National Council for Statistics and Forecast in Higher Education), President of Senate and Pro-rector of the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest, President of the National Authority for Scientific Research, President of IUFA (International Urban Fellows Association), Chairman of the Committee for Engineering Sciences.
Mr. Anton Anton was also a member of IUHER (Implementation Unit of Higher Education Reform), member of CNCSIS (National Council for Research in Higher Education).
Mr. Anton Anton was also Minister of Education, Research and Youth, as well as State Secretary within the Ministry of Education and Research. He published 7 books and one of them (‘Hydraulic Networks – Computing and Optimization’) was awarded by the Romanian Academy with the ‘Anghel Saligny Award’. He edited a series of 10 volumes under the scientific theme ‘Hydraulics of Environmental Engineering’ published at Timisoara University Horizons Publishing House and he also published over 100 articles in international and national magazines.
